Google is experimenting with TV.

The Internet company is teaming up with a satellite television company. According to The Wall Street Journal, Google and Dish Network are testing a new television search service. It involves a box for the television that has Google software. Viewers would use their keyboards to search for shows on satellite TV and on Internet sites like YouTube.

At the moment, only Google employees are testing this new service and there are no plans yet for a wider rollout. But the Journal reports this service could enable Google too target ads to individual households, based on information Google has picked up from the patterns created by kinds of things customers search for and view.
